I just asked if they could lend me their pump their sanitary procedures rivalled an OR; it was very responsible of them. On my way back home I tested the new bicycle path in Reforma. I have pretty large rims and wide tires and it is still very uncomfortable, I’m not surprised that cyclists continue using the bus land.

Its basically an uncovered geo-cell filled with stones. If it looks like its a bad idea, its because it is.

Maybe none of you asked, but the Angel of Independence still has “Mexico Feminicida” written on the plaque:

makes you wonder why they thought asphalt needed improving.

That bike path looks really bumpy.

Funny that they went with this when one of the best feelings when cycling is when you ride on a freshly paved road. You want people to use the bike path? Give them that satisfaction of riding on even, smooth asphalt.

This is not how you are supposed to use geo-grid. That looks terrible to ride upon .

Asphalt provider: 10000 per km

Geo-cell guy who’s friends with the mayor: 9999 per km

Its just good business

Why would they use stone pavers on a bike path? That looks both expensive and hard to ride on. You’d be better off on a nice dirt path .

Braking on it is terrifying... And again, I have mixed tires and 29in rims... A city bike there must be truly insufferable

Climate here is very variable; so a dirt path would be full of ruts in some seasons and lifting too much dust.

As for why it is the way it is... I think our government officials have never used a bicycle and like it because it looks cool

You think it is bad now? Wait 5 years and see how the foundation holds up.

My city recently paved over the entire middle part of a random intersection over a fast blind crust with bumpy pavers for no reason whatsoever and it is terrible to drive on now. I feel ya, but on bikes that has got to be so much worse.

I was actually thinking the opposite.  Short term it sucks and long term it will fill in and be quite solid.

am i the only person here that doesnt have a problem with the stones?

looks like at the very least its gonna be less slippery than the cobble stone im used to

the bike lane being right in the middle is a little odd tho....
